Lemu Kids is built for parents and families. We want as many people as possible to use the parent dashboard, settings, and public site comfortably. This page describes what we do today, what we do not guarantee, and how to tell us when something is hard to use. We do not claim conformance with WCAG 2.x or any formal accessibility standard.
Our approach
We improve accessibility in small, practical steps — especially on the parent side of the product. Lemu Kids is not a medical or clinical tool. Accessibility here means making the service easier to perceive, navigate, and understand for parents and guardians. Child mode (Lemu TV) is intentionally simple, but it is not designed as a fully accessible media player. We do not publish a WCAG 2.x conformance level (A, AA, or AAA).
What works today
Public pages and the parent experience include: • A skip link to main content on primary layouts • Support for prefers-reduced-motion (animations can be reduced via your system settings) • Text labels on most parent forms and settings • English, Portuguese, and Spanish across the product • Some ARIA labels on key controls (navigation, Lemu TV player controls, avatars) • Email support at hello@lemu-lab.com
Parent dashboard & settings
The dashboard, child profile, safety rules, and billing screens are intended for adult use with a keyboard, mouse, or touch. Keyboard navigation works on many screens, but focus indicators are not yet consistent everywhere. We are working on clearer focus styles and better labelling on interactive chips and cards. If a screen is difficult to use with your assistive technology, please email us with the page URL, your browser, and what happened.
Lemu TV (child watch mode)
Lemu TV is a simplified watch experience for children. It relies on the YouTube player for video playback. Captions, audio description, and player accessibility features depend on YouTube and on each individual video — Lemu Kids does not add its own caption layer. Some controls show icons only on small screens. Lemu TV is not optimised for screen readers or switch access today. Parents should supervise viewing and choose approved videos that fit their child's needs.
Personal needs & disabilities
In Child profile you can add Notes for Lima — free text for quirks, sensory preferences, accessibility needs, or anything that helps us personalise plans and video curation. This information is only visible to parents; it is not shown to the child. You can also list sensitive topics to avoid and block channels or keywords. These tools help our AI and filters adapt, but they are not a diagnosis, therapy, or guarantee of fit. They do not replace professional advice or your judgement as a parent.
Known limitations
As of this update, we are aware of gaps including: • No formal accessibility audit or automated testing in our release process • Inconsistent keyboard focus visibility on some components • Child mode not designed for full screen-reader or switch navigation • No in-app high-contrast or dyslexia-friendly typography option • Video accessibility depends on third-party YouTube embeds We will update this page when we ship meaningful improvements.
